Fire Bowls
made from 100+ year old Poplar Trees.

I love to work with Mesquite. The wood tone is so warm and the grain so distinct. Working with smaller diameter pieces of wood I can leave the natural edge at the mouth of the bowl and the worm holes in the sides which reveal the cycle of returning the wood to the earth to enable new life to spring from the arid soil of the Southwest.

For the wine connoisseur.

My bottle stoppers are also made of Mesquite with Turquoise highlights. They are the ideal gift for the wine lover.

Bowls that are as unique as Arizona itself.

I call this series of bowls The Arizona Bowls. They incorpoate elements that are reminiscent of Arizona's unique character. The Mesquite tree represents the arid desert environment, the Copper and Turquoise the riches that brought the settlers, and the Red Rock brings to mind the breathtaking scenery. The Arizona Bowl is handcrafted from Mesquite harvested during tree trimming and from dead fall. Embellishments of turquoise, copper and Arizona red rock are inlayed only in natural features of the wood. The bowls are turned to take advantage of the woods natural beauty making each bowl unique.
